Connect’s Directory holds a list of all your families and staff, in addition to all their contact information. This article will explain how to navigate the Directory.
Using the Directory, you can:
- Check that the contact details are correct
- Edit the details of individuals
- Manually add students and staff
- Assign students and staff to classrooms/schools
- Send messages to direct individuals
- Make calls to students' guardians
To access the Directory, click the Directory button on the left-hand side of the Navigation Bar.
Once in the Directory:
A. Select the correct school or classroom that you are looking for in the Drop-down
B. Click Families to see the list of families
C. Click Staff to see the list of Staff
D. Search for a specific user by typing in their name
E. Use the + people button to add, merge, or send an invite to users in the Directory.
F. Click the Actions button to manage the existing users in the Directory

- Assign Students
- Copy From a Spreadsheet
- Assign Teachers
- Connect to Google Classrooms
- Merge Students
- Send an Invitation

With Families, you can:
- Send an Announcement
- Send a Newsletter by Smore
- Assign a Student to a Class
- Archive a Student
- Delete a Student (The student has to be Archived)
- Update a Student's details
- Remove Guardians
- Enable Student Accounts
- Disable Student Accounts
With Staff, you can:
- Send an Announcement
- Remove them from the School
- Send a Newsletter by Smore
Note: All admins have an Admin Label so they are easily identifiable. If you are in the school directory, they will be School Admins, and if in the District Directory, they will be District Admins.
Note: If a Contact has a red exclamation point, it means the user is unreachable. Learn more here.
- To view the student's profile, click on the student's name
- To view the parent/guardian’s Profile, click on the parent/guardian's name
A Student Profile
- Click the phone icon to make a 1:1 phone call
- Click the message icon to send a direct message
- Click the report icon to track the student's engagement log
- Click the add guardian icon to add a guardian to the student
- Click the plus icon to assign the student to a class
- Click Edit to edit the details of the student
A Guardian User Profile
- Click the message icon to send a direct message
- Click the Send Invitation button to send an invitation

- Click the message icon to send a direct message
- Job Description in the School, Classroom, or District
