Heads up:It is not allowed to manually assign students to classrooms that are synced with Clever, ClassLink, or OneRoster.
Teachers who have classrooms connected to a school can assign existing students to their classrooms.
This process allows SchoolStatus Connect leaders and teachers to connect with parents/guardians who have already been added previously without needing to send new invitations.
Note: Please remember this will only work if the school allows you to manage your classroom rosters manually and your classroom is connected to the school. It is not allowed to manually assign students to classrooms that are synced with Clever, ClassLink, or OneRoster.
Teachers can assign students to classrooms from the following locations:
Assign Students in the Class Directory
- Go to your class and open the Directory
- Click the add button then click Assign Students
- Scroll, search, or enroll a Student
Scroll through the page to find your student
Use Search
We recommend searching by a list of last names or ID numbers separated by commas. You can copy and paste this list from a spreadsheet.
Enroll a new Student (used when a student is not in the School Directory yet)
- Please note that you can only enroll a new student if you have the Rostering Administrator Custom Permission and your school is not syncing with Clever, ClassLink, or OneRoster. If you do not see the option, please reach out to your School Leader or contact support-ct@schoolstatus.com.
- This option is only available on the class level.
- Click the plus sign to assign the student to your class. Once added, you'll see a checkmark.
- Repeat the same process until all students are added to your classroom.
Assign Students from the Classrooms Tab
- Go to the School's page and click Classrooms. Click the ellipses next to the class then click Assign Students.
- Scroll or search a Student.

Use Search
We recommend searching by an array of Last names separated by spaces or commas. You can also copy and paste the last names from a spreadsheet.
- Click the plus sign to assign the student to your class. Once added, you'll see a checkmark.
- Repeat the same process until all students are added to your classroom.
Assign Students from the School Directory
- Go to the School's page and click Directory
- Select the students you want to assign. Click Actions then click Assign to Class
- Select the classroom then click Assign
Assign Students from their Student Profile
- Go to the Directory and click the student’s name
- From the Student Profile, click the + sign in Classes
- Choose a classroom that you want the student to be added and click Assign

If you accidentally added the wrong student, do not fret, you can remove them from the classroom by following the steps here.
