District and School staff can create and save Announcement Templates on SchoolStatus Connect. Rather than starting from scratch each time you create a new announcement, create templates with set copy and set preferences for repeat announcements. This article will cover how to create a template and how to use a template in your announcements.
To save a personal template, please follow the steps below.
1. Click the "+" icon
2. Click Announcement
3. Click the icon for Templates
4. Either tick an already existing template or create a new one by clicking New Template.
***If you selected New Template, fill out the details of the Announcement and update the Settings. Once done, click Create.

Using Announcement Templates
When sending announcements, school staff can choose from Personal or Global (public) templates instead of starting from scratch. Here’s how each type works:
Personal Templates
Personal templates are created and managed by individual staff members. They’re perfect for recurring or customized messages, like a teacher’s weekly parent update with sections for classroom highlights, upcoming events, and reminders.
- Who can use them: The staff member who created them.
- Best for: Regular, personalized communication.
- Why use them: They save time while keeping your tone and content consistent.\
Global Templates
Global templates are shared, standardized templates available to multiple staff members across the school. They’re often used for school-wide announcements or communications that need a unified message.
- Who can use them: Anyone with access across the school or district.
- Best for: Broad, official updates or reminders.
- Why use them: They ensure consistent messaging for all recipients.
Please follow the steps below to use an Announcement Template when you create your message.
- Click the "+" icon

Select Announcement

Once you have selected your recipients, click on the pencil icon to choose a template.

Choose a template from the list. You can also use the drop-down to see Personal templates (created by you) or Global templates (accessible by all users).

Once a selection is made, click Next to continue.

Click Confirm to proceed.

Edit the content of your Announcement.

When done, use the Send button to Preview, Schedule it to send later, or Send now.
