With Announcement Settings you are able to manage how your audience can interact with your Announcements. SchoolStatus Connect understands that School Leaders need to send Announcements to parents and students in different ways depending on their importance and urgency. This article will explain how to navigate and adjust the Announcement Settings.
Note: SchoolStatus Connect delivers communications to families based on their preferred languages with automated translation into over 100 languages, and sends to channels: email or SMS in addition to app, and web.
Note: When creating an announcement you must select the audience first in order to view applicable settings.
If notifications are not successfully sent to the preferred channel, the system will use the alternative method. For example, if the preferred channel is email but the user's email inbox is full, the system will send the notifications to SMS. Once the issue behind the failed emails is resolved, and the user’s email status is reset either by the user or by Connect support, the system will revert back to sending communications via the preferred channel.
To access your Announcement settings:
1. Click on the plus.
2. Select Announcement.
3. Chose your Audience.
4. Select the Gear icon.

Voice Broadcasts are pre-recorded audio messages delivered as phone calls and part of a school-wide or district-wide announcement. Connect tracks real-time data on whether a message was delivered, started, and listened to completion. |

| Public Broadcast | Accessible to the public for everyone to see. | The announcement will be publicly viewable by anyone with the link. Parents will be able to see it without logging in. |
