🎊 What's New
We've made it easier than ever to create announcements and know exactly who will receive them.
Â
Recipient counts for Staff, Guardians, and Students now appear directly in your announcement creation panel. These numbers update automatically as you add or remove audience groups, no guesswork needed.
Â
How we count: If someone has multiple roles (like a staff member who's also a parent), they're only counted once, under their highest role in this order: Guardian → then Staff → then Student. This gives you an accurate total of unique individuals who will receive your message.
Â
💡 Quick tip: A dash (–) means the segment was not selected. A zero (0) means it was selected but has no recipients. This helps you quickly confirm whether a group was intentionally excluded or has no one to notify.
All your options in one place
All delivery and engagement settings are now visible right in the creation panel, organized under a clear Delivery & Engagement Options section. You'll see settings for:
- Replies and comments
- Message priority
- Public links
- Voice broadcast
Can't select an option? It will appear greyed out with a helpful tooltip explaining why, usually because it doesn't apply to your current audience mix.
Why is this helpful
- Teachers and staff can send announcements with confidence, knowing precisely who will receive them and which delivery options are available.
- District leaders and administrators get greater consistency across all school communications.
- Families receive clearer, more reliable messages because staff have better tools to reach the right people.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Why did my recipient count change when I added another audience group?Â
A: The total updates in real time show unique individuals. Someone already counted as Staff won't be added again if you also select Guardians.
Q: Why can't I select certain delivery options?Â
A: Some options only work with specific audiences. For example, voice broadcast may not be available for all recipient types. The tooltip will tell you why.
Q: Did anything change on mobile?Â
A: No. Mobile users will continue to see the same experience as before.
