📣 Viewing and Managing Your Automations
You can now view and manage your automations directly from your SchoolStatus Connect settings; no need to contact support just to check if something is working!
đźš« Before, it wasn’t easy to tell whether your automation was working.Â
For example, if you used an automation that pulls in student-specific information (like names or schedules), you might not know:Â
- If any messages were sent,
- How many were sent?
- If anything failed, or why.
- No way to turn an automation on or off without reaching out to support.
đź’ˇNow, you can View & Manage Automations from Your Dashboard
You can find automation settings in District Settings (for district-level rosterers), School Settings (for district rosterers and approved school administrators)
Note: You’ll only see this option if automations have already been set up for your district or school.
- In the left-hand menu, click Schools.
-
Select your school from the list.
-
Click the three-dot menu and select Settings.
-
Scroll down and click on the Automated Announcements tab.
-
If automations have been set up, they’ll appear on the new page with the automation status.Â
-
Click an automation to see its details and activity logs. You’ll also see a Status toggle to enable or disable this automation. You can also access the announcement template by clicking on Announcement Template.
-
Click any Automation log to expand it and view more details. The logs show you a summary of recent activity for each automation, including: When the automation ran, how many messages were successfully sent, how many failed, any error messages, and if something didn’t work.Â
📝 Understanding Automation Logs
Each time an automation runs, it keeps a record of what happened; we call these logs.
To make things easier for you:
- We only show the summary logs in your dashboard. These give you a clear overview of each automation run, including how many messages were sent and if there were any issues.
What you need to know:
- Some automations send messages one by one (we call these granular), and they create a lot of behind-the-scenes logs. You won’t see all of those,  just the final summary for the whole batch.
- Automations that don’t send messages individually already create summary logs.
- We’ve also added summary logs for past automations where possible, so you can still see helpful information even if the automation ran a while ago.
- Only the 6 most recent runs are shown.
This keeps your log view clean, simple, and focused on what matters most.
🚦Are you ready to set up your Automations?
If your school or district doesn’t have any automations set up yet, we recommend starting by creating an announcement template. Once that’s ready, contact our support team to help set up the automation for your school or district.
