SchoolStatus Connect Admin and Staff can make an announcement publicly viewable and share it on Social Media, including Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp. This type of Announcement can be shared and viewed on SMS text notifications, email, social media, and other platforms without needing to log in to SchoolStatus Connect.
Please follow the steps below to create a Social Sharing Announcement.
1. Click the plus sign in the navigation bar.
2. Create an Announcement
3. Select the Recipients of your Announcement
4. Click the cog on the right side
5. Toggle the Public Broadcast button to turn it on
6. Fill out the Announcement form. Click Send, Send Later, or Preview
7. If you choose to preview before you send, the next page is what you will see. If everything looks good, click Send
Note: The new Announcement will be shared with the SchoolStatus Connect Class, School, or District as usual.
Note: Public Broadcast needs to be toggled on to send a Newsletter by Smore.

8. Click on the 3 black dots
9. Click Share
You can: Copy the link or share it directly to Facebook, WhatsApp, or Twitter.
Note: Social Sharing Announcements will look like this on social media. Clicking it will open the full Announcement without the need to sign in.
Note: When clicked from Social Media and SMS, it will open up without asking to sign in:
Note: On SchoolStatus Connect, the Social Sharing Announcement will look like this and will have the arrow icon on its banner.
Note: You can create a Priority Announcement, which is also a Voice Broadcast, Student Broadcast, and/or Social Shared.
Note: If the user has both email and SMS contact details, the default notification method would be via email.
If notifications are not successfully sent to the preferred channel, the system will use the alternative method. For example, if the user's email inbox is full and the notifications are not delivered successfully, the system will send the notifications to SMS. Once the issue behind the failed emails is resolved, and the user’s email status is reset either by the user or by Connect support, the system will revert back to sending communications via the preferred channel - email.
