You can now create Smore newsletters on Connect. You can also link an existing Smore account to your Connect account and copy newsletters into your Connect account. Note that any changes made to duplicates in Connect are not reflected in your Smore account.
This article will cover any commonly asked questions regarding the differences between a Connect and an existing Smore account.
How do I add users to Smore in Connect? The Management Dashboard does not exist in Connect. All educators with Connect will have a Smore Account in Connect, so no one needs to be invited manually.
Are the two accounts connected? A Connect account can be linked to a Smore Account for the sole purpose of copying newsletters across from Smore to Connect. These newsletters will be duplicates, and any changes to the duplicates in Connect will not impact anything on Smore.com.
Can I access my existing Newsletters and Folders from my Smore Account in Connect? Yes, you can! From your Connect Account, you can copy newsletters from your Smore Account into Connect. To learn how, click here.
Can I copy shared folders across? Yes, you can copy shared folders across, but they will duplicate across as private folders.
Do the newsletters I create on Connect also get created in Smore? No, any changes made to a newsletter in Connect do not get synced to your Smore Account.
If I copy a newsletter to Connect, are the changes reflected on the original newsletter in Smore? No, they are not. Both accounts are completely separate; any changes on one do not affect the other.
Can I access my mailing lists made in Smore? No, if you are creating and sending newsletters in Connect, you can only share your newsletter as an Announcement. To learn more, click here.
Can I use the Template Center? Currently, the Template Center does not exist in Connect. With that, it will be available in later versions. If you are in need of the Template Center, we recommend logging into Smore.com, creating your newsletter, and then copying it across into Connect. To learn how, click here.
Can I create Shared Folders and Collaborate? Collaboration is not available on Connect. In order to collaborate, you can log in to your account on smore.com, create, collaborate, and edit newsletters, and then decide who will be sharing them as an Announcement on Connect. The designated sender can open their Connect account and copy the newsletter from Smore and send it as an Announcement.
