As a parent, your child’s teacher might share files privately with you. This could be a photo of your child, a video, a class report, or an exam that the teacher wants your child to complete.
You may also want to share something with your child’s teacher that you wouldn’t want to share with other parents.
Great news! We have what we call a “Backpack” section where you can view any files shared by the teacher with you privately and upload files you want to share with only the teacher.
Uploading a file in your child's Backpack
To access your child’s backpack, please follow these steps:
- Click on the Context Selector Dropdown
- Select the 'Classroom'
- Click 'Library'
- Click 'Backpacks'
- Click the box that has your child’s name.
- Drag and drop the file OR click “click here” and choose the file you want to upload from your computer or mobile device.
- Click “Save”.
- You will now see the file shared in the “File” section.
Viewing the file that was shared by your child's teacher
- Click on the Context Selector Dropdown
- Select the 'Classroom'
- Click 'Library'
- Click 'Backpacks'
- Click the box that has your child’s name.
- The files at the bottom of the page are the files that were either shared by you or your child’s teacher. The new upload by the teacher will have the green “New” marker.
- You can also filter the files based on their type (Files, Google Drive, Images, Videos, or YouTube).
How will I get notified if there are any new files uploaded by the teacher?
- If the teacher uploaded a new file to your child's Backpack, a bell icon will appear on the "Library" tab.
- If you click the “Backpack” tab, an “Upd” flag will be added to your child’s backpack.
- Once you click on your child’s backpack, there will be a “New” flag on the most recent file that your child’s teacher uploaded.
- There will also be a dot on the profile avatar on the upper right side.
- Clicking on the button will show the 'Notifications' page.
- Clicking on the notification will redirect you to your child’s backpack where you can see the new file.
- If the app has been installed on your mobile device, a push notification will also be sent.
NOTES:
-
At the end of each hour (e.g., 4:59 pm, 5:59 pm), the system will also send an email notification with the list of unseen files added to your child's Backpack.
-
The system won't send any SMS notifications if you set your notification method to SMS.
