Heads up: This article does not apply to schools or districts that sync their data to Connect.
As a parent, you will be invited by the teacher to join a class using one of three ways:
(1) Open the Email Invitation and click Join Now.
(2) Fill out the signup form.
(3) Click Join.
Note: This invitation is for the parent or guardian and not the child. Enter your first and last name and create a password. The email address will be automatically filled in with the address that the invitation was sent. Changing it to a different email address will still let you join the class and update what the teacher has entered.
Signing up using the SMS Invitation
1. Click the link from the SMS invitation.
Please note that the email will be blank if you are invited using a phone number only. You can enter an email address if you prefer but you can proceed without it. You will then need to log in using your mobile phone number and will receive notifications via SMS.
3. Click “Join Class.”
4. Enter the Verification Code that you will receive via SMS and click Verify.
You’re all set! You can now access the classroom and all of its content.
Note:: If you have multiple children in one school and they all use SchoolStatus Connect, you will only need to go through this process once. Once you have signed up successfully, all invitations from other classrooms will automatically be accepted. You can then browse through multiple classrooms by clicking the Context Selector Dropdown on the upper-right side of your class Home. See the sample below.
Note: If you have both email and SMS contact details, the default notification method would be via email.
If notifications are not successfully sent to the preferred channel, the system will use the alternative method. For example, if you email inbox is full and the notifications are not delivered successfully, the system will send the notifications to SMS.Once the issue behind the failed emails is resolved, and the user’s email status is reset either by the user or by Connect support, the system will revert back to sending communications via the preferred channel - email.
