Viewing all Information sent for my child – SchoolStatus Connect

SchoolStatus Connect launched a way for parents to view their child’s content across classrooms. Now parents with children in multiple classrooms can view their child’s Announcements, Events, Files, and Assignments in one feed.

This enables parents to view all information sent in different classrooms in one single place instead of going to each of their child’s individual classrooms.

When a parent clicks the three lines on the upper right-hand side of their SchoolStatus Connect account, a new Child View section will appear that lists all their children. Clicking a child’s name will show the Child page. We’ll show and explain each section below.

For this article, we’ll focus on the “Child” view.

Click on the profile picture dropdown
Select the Gear Icon
Click on My Family
Select the Child's name

Let’s browse through the classroom page.

The classroom name will appear on the upper-right side
The menu tabs:

Home - All published Announcements, Events, and Stories will be displayed here regardless of the Classroom.
Activities - Sign up for Events, Volunteer Requests, To Do Items, and Parent Teacher Conference
Library - Digital files and photos from your child's classes.

Home

All District, School, and Class Announcements are posted here from all the classrooms the child is linked to.

Note: The title bars of each Announcement will show the class and teacher who posted it. The District and School Announcements will do the same and have a different color.

Backpacks

Virtual backpacks from all classrooms the child is linked to will be available here. A little green notifier with “Upd” shows which backpack has new uploads that the parent has not viewed.

Clicking the Backpack of a specific classroom will show all files that were uploaded by the teachers, with the “New” icon on the newly uploaded ones.

After you view the new files and go back to the main Backpack page, the green “Upd” icon on the Backpack will disappear until a new file is uploaded.

Library

All Classrooms linked to the child will have a folder for the Child View Library. This includes all photos and files shared via Announcements, Events, and other Activities from the class. Similar to Backpacks, when a Classrooms has newly uploaded files a green Upd icon will be shown.

New photos or files will have a green New icon.

After you viewed the new files and go back to the main Library page, the green “Upd” will disappear until a new file is uploaded.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM

All of your child's Classrooms that have been synced with Google Classroom will appear here. Posts, Classwork, and Materials the teacher uploads on Google Classroom will be accessible to parents on SchoolStatus Connect through this tab.

Browse through the Google Classroom tabs and see everything teachers share with your child from Google Classroom.

This table provides an overview of what information can be seen from each tab.
