Parents just like you love SchoolStatus Connect because it enables them to become partners in their child's education, catch magical day-to-day moments they would otherwise miss, and easily stay in the loop with all announcements, activities, and events for their child's school in one place.This article will explain how you navigate through SchoolStatus as a Parent/ Guardian.
Home Page
This is the best place to start your session on SchoolStatus Connect.
The Home Feed shows announcements for each child you’re connected with, while the Filter (Context Selector) lets you switch between your District, School, or Classroom pages.
Activities
The activities tab is where you can see all of the upcoming and past activities for your child's class, School, and District Events. You'll see detailed information on events including the start and end dates, times, and locations. We have included the ability for parents to see teacher requests for volunteers and items for these activities. There is even a place for parents to sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Simply click Parent Teacher Conference to sign up and come back to change it at any time you need. You can also add to your personal calendar right from there.

Directory
You can only view the Directory when enabled by the School Admin. Here you can find the names of the classroom/school students, parents, and staff.
Library
The library is where you can find class and event photos & videos, class files, and even upload your own files, photos, and videos to share with other members of the class. This is a great place to connect, share, and stay informed about the events and activities going on in the classroom.
Classrooms
On this page, you will see a list of classrooms you are connected with. The list shows the classroom name, the Period, and the Grade. You can click the classroom name to view the specific classroom page. Click the Filter box to show specific classrooms.
Schools
Click the context selector to view the school page.
Conversation
You can communicate with teachers and parents using SchoolStatus Connect's conversations. You can select to have a group or a 1-1 conversation. All communications will go to your email inbox, PLUS send a push notification on the mobile app. If you haven't seen the communication on SchoolStatus Connect within 1 minute, it will send an email or SMS, depending on which communication method you set in your account settings.
Note: If you have both email and SMS contact details, the default notification method is determined by each district’s settings.
If notifications are not successfully sent to the preferred channel, the system will use the alternative method. For example, if the user's email inbox is full and the notifications are not delivered successfully, the system will send the messages to SMS. Once the issue behind the failed emails is resolved, and the user’s email status is reset either by the user or by Connect support, the system will revert to sending communications via the preferred channel - email.

Note: We’ve added a short label (e.g., For Dennis) at the start of most system-sent SMS messages. This helps clarify who the message is for and which account it belongs to when multiple users share the same phone number in Connect.
