✅ Before Your Sandbox is Set Up
Make these decisions early to ensure a smooth onboarding process:
- ID Number: Which ID number do you want to be searchable in the Directory?
- If the answer is SIS ID or State ID, it is an easy set-up.
- If you’d like us to map and replace a different number to the SIS ID, we can work with you on those steps.
- Student Communication Options: Do you want student email and/or phone numbers in the Directory?
- Email is required to: Send Announcements to students, AND allow students to log in with limited access to the app.
- Guardian Preferred Language: Should we assign a preferred language to the guardian accounts?
- For SFTP, OneRoster, or ClassLink, include language in the data files.
- For Clever, confirm that the language field is accessible and readable.
- If SchoolStatus pulls your data, identify the correct language field.
- Student Contacts: Which Guardians and/or Contacts should we load in Connect?
- Ensure each contact has unique phone/email details.
- If SchoolStatus pulls your data, we’ll help you filter out shared contacts.

Review and validate Student Attributes to ensure accuracy.
🚀 When Going Live (Production Set-Up)
- Default Contact Method Choose the default method for Guardian communication: SMS or Email.
- Announcement Settings Decide if replies to Email & SMS Announcements should be enabled by default.
- Single Sign-On (SSO) Setup Indicate if your district uses Google or Microsoft SSO. Microsoft SSO requires an extra configuration step
