This is the fifth step of syncing OneRoster with SchoolStatus Connect. If you intend to see the high-level view of how to start syncing with OneRoster, please click here.
If you are done with the first four steps, please proceed.
SchoolStatus Connect will create an initial sync configuration for you. You can then adjust the settings to make sure the sync meets your needs.
To adjust the settings, please follow the steps below.
1. Go to the District page.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Click SIS Rostering.
4. Click District-Level Daily Sync.
Now, adjust the following to how you want the sync to happen.
- Allow the OneRoster sync to manage guardians
- Remove roles from Skyward sourcedIds
- Unarchive classrooms that re-appear in the roster data
- Allow the sync to update contact details of active users
Allow the OneRoster sync to manage guardians
If you want SchoolStatus Connect to pull guardians from the users.csv, make sure this setting is ON.
If you want SchoolStatus Connect to pull the guardian information from another source (e.g. you plan to use the guardians.csv file), please leave this option OFF and review the automated SFTP sync for guardians setup guide linked at the bottom of this page.
Remove roles from Skyward sourcedIds
Skyward may insert <role> into user UIDs. Because of this, if the setting is OFF during the sync, users with multiple roles in Skyward will have several accounts on SchoolStatus Connect.
This is not ideal because SchoolStatus Connect allows its users to have multiple roles under one account.
To make sure that the sync combines multiple roles under one account, please turn this setting ON if your users’ UID has the following format:
-
USR<role>DDDD
Unarchive classrooms that re-appear in the roster data
This setting makes sure that the classrooms you share in the classes.csv are always active on SchoolStatus Connect. You can always change this.
Allow the sync to update contact details of active users
If your SIS data is the most up-to-date source of user contact details, you may choose to enable this option. Please read this article to learn more about the setting.
5. Click Save
Note: DO NOT enable the sync yet.
