As a district administrator, you may choose to share the following records with SchoolStatus Connect:
- District Leaders
- Schools
- School administrators
- Teachers
- Students
- Contacts
- Sections
- Extension fields
Sharing schools, sections, and staff members
Please only share the schools, staff members, and sections you plan to sync. Adjust the sharing rules here.
Note: In some cases, it may be tricky to create rules that only share the sections/classrooms you need. If that's the case, you may choose to share more sections, let the synchronization create classrooms for all of them, but then go to SchoolStatus Connect and manually archive the extra sections that you don't need. They will stay archived as long as the Unarchive classrooms that reappear in the roster data
sync setting stays turned off.
Sharing Student Fields
To share the student extension fields, ELL, FRL, and IEP statuses with SchoolStatus Connect, make sure to specify it here in the Field Access section. SchoolStatus Connect recommends sharing all fields.
Click “Advanced settings” > Choose “Customize fields shared with SchoolStatus Connect” > make sure the student fields you want to share are in the “Share With SchoolStatus Connect” column > click “Next” until you can save settings > Save.
Sharing Contacts
Identify Contact Types and Contact Relationships that you intend to share. You will need to use this information later to adjust sync settings on SchoolStatus Connect.
Example: sync Contacts with Contact Type: Parent/Guardian and Contact Relationship: Parent.
If you do not plan to share contacts at all, please turn off sharing guardians on this page in the Field Access section. SchoolStatus Connect recommends sharing all fields for contacts if you share contacts.
Click Advanced settings > Choose “Customize fields shared with SchoolStatus Connect” > click “Customize fields” > click “Next” until you get to the “Edit Contact Fields” page > Turn sharing off and save settings.
Sharing District Admins
If you do not plan to share district admins, please turn off sharing on this page in the Field Access section.
Click Advanced settings > Choose “Customize fields shared with SchoolStatus Connect” > click “Customize fields” > click “Next” until you get to the “Edit District Admin Fields” page > Turn sharing off and save settings.
Sharing Student Extended Fields
To share the student custom extension fields with SchoolStatus Connect, please make sure to specify it here in the Field Access section. SchoolStatus Connect recommends sharing all extension fields.
Click “Advanced settings” > Choose “Customize fields shared with SchoolStatus Connect” > click “Next” until you get to the “Edit Extension Fields” page > make sure the extension fields you want to share are in the “Share With SchoolStatus Connect” column > Save.
Please make sure that you’re not oversharing data with SchoolStatus Connect.
